Position Overview

The Associate โ€“ Validator role within the Asset Management Reporting function acts as the independent quality, control, and risk assurance layer. The primary purpose is to ensure that all reports produced for clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders are technically accurate, conceptually sound, and compliant with internal standards and regulatory expectations. The role is accountable for challenging outputs, validating assumptions, and preventing incorrect or misleading information from being released.


Job Responsibilities

  • Independent Validation: Perform independent reviews of reports produced by Processors, focusing on accuracy, completeness, consistency, and appropriateness.
  • Technical Review: Review calculations, methodologies, disclosures, narratives, and trends across reporting periods to ensure they are methodologically consistent.
  • Control Execution: Execute second-level controls and formally evidence all validation and sign-off activities.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee daily production activities, ensure compliance with SLAs, reporting calendars, and quality thresholds, and act as the first escalation point for operational or data issues.
  • Risk Management: Challenge unusual movements or overrides, identify systemic issues or recurring errors, and perform root-cause analysis for control weaknesses.
  • Audit & Compliance: Support internal/external audits and regulatory reviews by providing clear explanations and documented evidence.
  • Leadership & Development: Coach and guide Processors and Validators on technical expectations, manage workload distribution, and support recruitment and training initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization initiatives while coordinating with global stakeholders, Data teams, and Operations.

Required Education

  • Post Graduate degree in Finance or a related discipline.


Skills and Experience (must have)

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in Asset Management Operations, Investment Reporting, or Validation.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong end-to-end understanding of Asset Management Reporting processes (performance, holdings, regulatory disclosures) and investment products/fund structures.
  • Control Expertise: Deep understanding of operational risk, control frameworks, data validation, and reconciliation techniques.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex reporting outputs, assess delivery risks, and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with reporting platforms and databases.
  • Behavioral Skills: Rigorous professional judgment, strong attention to detail, accountability mindset, and the ability to work under high pressure during peak reporting cycles.
  • Communication: Clear and structured verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders positively.


Preferred Education, Skills and Experience (nice to have)

  • Equivalent Experience: Candidates with equivalent professional experience in Financial Reporting or Asset Management Operations may be considered if they meet the seniority requirements.
  • Strategic Skills: Ability to assess process effectiveness and identify specific opportunities for automation and large-scale standardization.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage complex dependencies across Data Services, Pricing, and Reporting Solutions teams.
