Special Education Teacher

Role Summery:

The Special Educator will collaborate across the school community to support students with diverse learning needs through screening assessments, development of Individualized Education Programs, teacher collaboration, parent engagement, and supervision of shadow teachers.

Work Location: Amanora - Pune

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Conduct school-wide literacy screening assessments and design targeted intervention plans at the school, classroom, and individual student levels.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support lesson planning and facilitate the acquisition and generalization of therapy-integrated skills across learning environments.
• Assess individual student abilities to identify unique learning needs and develop appropriate, evidence-based teaching and intervention strategies.
• Differentiate classroom lessons and curricula to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs, providing push-in support where required.
• Design, implement, monitor, and update comprehensive Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) throughout the school year to reflect ongoing progress and evolving student goals.
• Plan, organize, and deliver tailored learning activities for students across whole-class, small-group, and one-to-one settings.
• Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators regarding student progress, providing behavioral and developmental guidance to families as needed.
• Supervise and mentor shadow teachers and teaching assistants to ensure high-quality, direct instructional support.
• Maintain accurate student records, assessment data, and IEP documentation in compliance with school policies.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings to support overall student learning and well-being.
• Fulfill all ongoing professional development requirements, including workshops, training sessions, and coursework.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Rehabilitation Science, or a related field.
• Rehabilitation Council of India Certification is preferred in the Indian context.
• Experience in school-based special education and collaborative teaching environments.
• Strong understanding of learning disabilities, developmental delays, and evidence-based interventions.
