Our client is a growing organisation with a busy, fast-paced finance function based in Belfast. The Role
You will assist with the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance team with month-end processes and reporting. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will gain broad exposure across transactional finance, reconciliations and reporting. This is a strong fit for someone early in their accounting career who wants variety, structure and genuine support as they grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase and sales invoices
- Perform bank reconciliations and cash allocation
- Prepare and post journals
- Assist with month-end and year-end procedures
- Reconcile supplier and customer accounts
- Support credit control and accounts payable activities
- Process employee expenses
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
- Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
- Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting and analysis
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve account queries
What You'll Need
Essential:
- 3+ years' experience in an accounts or finance role
- Good understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero or Microsoft Dynamics
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable / Nice to Have:
- AAT qualified or studying towards AAT, ACCA, CIMA or a similar qualification
- Experience with month-end processes
- Knowledge of VAT procedures
