Our client is a growing organisation with a busy, fast-paced finance function based in Belfast. The team offers a supportive and collaborative environment where junior finance professionals are encouraged to develop their skills and progress within a genuinely growing business. The Role

You will assist with the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance team with month-end processes and reporting. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will gain broad exposure across transactional finance, reconciliations and reporting. This is a strong fit for someone early in their accounting career who wants variety, structure and genuine support as they grow.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchase and sales invoices
  • Perform bank reconciliations and cash allocation
  • Prepare and post journals
  • Assist with month-end and year-end procedures
  • Reconcile supplier and customer accounts
  • Support credit control and accounts payable activities
  • Process employee expenses
  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
  • Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
  • Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve account queries


What You'll Need

Essential:

  • 3+ years' experience in an accounts or finance role
  • Good understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills


Desirable / Nice to Have:

  • AAT qualified or studying towards AAT, ACCA, CIMA or a similar qualification
  • Experience with month-end processes
  • Knowledge of VAT procedures
