Our client, a market leader in their field, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day finance operations of their business. Working as part of a busy finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end reporting, and ensuring compliance with VAT and customs regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong transactional finance experience looking to develop within a fast-paced environment.
Location: Clonmel Salary: Competitive Base Salary Job Type: Full-time, 6-9 mth contract Key Responsibilities: Manage the accounts payable function, including processing supplier invoices and resolving queries. Prepare bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records. Support credit control activities, including customer account management and credit limit reviews.
Prepare Irish and UK VAT returns and process customs duty and VAT documentation. Maintain the fixed asset register and process additions, disposals and depreciation. Prepare stock reconciliations, inventory reports and variance analysis.
Manage prepayments, accruals, employee expenses, company credit cards and petty cash. Produce weekly and monthly financial reports to support business operations. Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial procedures.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers to support the smooth running of the finance function. Skills & Experience: Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar finance role. Strong understanding of accounts payable, bank reconciliations and month-end processes.
Knowledge of Irish and UK VAT regulations; customs or import/export experience is an advantage. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial accounting systems. Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines. Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships. Skills: Accounts Payable VAT Month-End
