We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Area Director of Sales to lead the commercial strategy for two high-profile hotels in the heart of Washington, DC: the business-forward Courtyard Dupont Circle and the vibrant, lifestyle-focused Moxy DC. This is a unique opportunity to drive performance across two distinct brands while building a high-impact sales culture. Position Overview The Area Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives to maximize revenue, market share, and brand positioning across both properties.

This leader will oversee all sales functions, manage key accounts, and collaborate closely with property leadership and ownership to achieve financial goals. Key Responsibilities Revenue Strategy & Market Leadership Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to exceed revenue targets across both hotels Identify new business opportunities in corporate, group, and transient segments Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, and demand patterns to drive performance Partner with Revenue Management to optimize pricing and inventory strategies Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and inspire on-property sales teams Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance Support recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing development of sales talent Account Management & Business Development Cultivate and maintain relationships with key corporate, group, and agency accounts Actively participate in outside sales calls, networking events, and industry functions Negotiate contracts and secure high-value business opportunities Brand Positioning & Collaboration Ensure alignment with brand standards for both Courtyard and Moxy Collaborate with Marketing to drive awareness, digital presence, and local engagement Work closely with General Managers to align sales strategies with operational goals What We’re Looking For 5+ years of progressive hotel sales leadership experience (multi-property experience preferred) Strong understanding of Marriott systems, sales processes, and brand positioning Proven track record of driving revenue growth and exceeding targets Experience managing both corporate and lifestyle/hybrid hospitality segments is a plus Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills Deep knowledge of the Washington, DC market preferred Why This Role Lead two complementary and high-visibility hotel brands Opportunity to shape strategy and directly impact financial performance Work in one of the most dynamic hospitality markets in the country Join a growing ownership and management team focused on long-term success Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary + performance-based bonus Comprehensive benefits package Career growth opportunities within a growing portfolio In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete required employment eligibility verification form (Form I-9) upon hire.
