Job Title: Product Support Engineer - Data Platform (Spark, Hive, etc) Location: Bangalore Experience: 1+ yrs Immediate Joining Job Description: We are looking for a Product Support Engineer to support and maintain data platforms and production systems for a cloud-based EdTech environment . The role involves troubleshooting Spark/Hive jobs , monitoring ETL workflows , handling production incidents, supporting batch processes, and ensuring platform reliability. The ideal candidate should have experience in production/application support along with exposure to big data technologies and data engineering workflows.
Responsibilities: Monitor and support production applications, Spark jobs, and batch workflows Troubleshoot ETL/data pipeline failures and perform root cause analysis ( RCA ) Support Hive/Spark-based data processing system s and investigate job failures Handle L1/L2/L3 production support incidents and maintain SLA adherence Perform SQL queries, log analysis, and data validation for issue resolution Work with APIs , backend systems, and production logs for troubleshooting Coordinate with engineering and data teams for deployments, fixes, and enhancements Monitor job executions, alerts, and system health proactively Maintain RCA documents, incident reports, and support documentation Required Skills: Experience in Product/Application/Production Support Hands-on exposure to Apache Spark, Hive, or big data ecosystems Understanding of ETL/data pipelines and batch processing workflows Strong SQL knowledge Experience in API troubleshooting and log analysis Linux/Unix basics and scripting exposure Familiarity with monitoring/ticketing tools like Jira, Kibana, Splunk, ServiceNow, etc. Exposure to Python or Shell scripting Good understanding of incident management and production support processes Good to Have: Exposure to Airflow, Hadoop ecosystem, or Kafka Experience supporting SaaS or data-driven platforms Understanding of cloud-based production environments
