Rheonics, a global industrial automation company specializing in the manufacture of viscosity and density measurement sensors, has openings for the role of Application Engineer to work in its Peru Team, part of its Global Working Team. Rheonics' technical and operations team is based in multiple locations worldwide and uses English as the common language internally.

Role Description
- Provide after-sales technical support for Rheonics inline viscosity and density sensors, including mechanical installation guidance, electronics configuration, and communication protocol setup (Modbus, 4-20mA, HART, etc.)
- Support customers with control system integration for sensor deployment across process environments
- Troubleshoot field installation and configuration issues, working directly with customers and internal engineering teams
- Develop application notes and customer success case studies documenting sensor performance across industries (food & beverage, oil & gas, chemicals, pharma, etc.)
- Transition into pre-sales technical support: explain sensor operating principles to prospective clients, define appropriate sensor configurations for customer applications, and prepare technical quotations
- Hand off finalized quotes and Purchase Orders to the Sales team for order processing and shipping
- Build and maintain relationships with partners and distributors, tracking their sales/technical activity and providing them with technical support as needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Support, Engineering, Marketing, and Media Teams to ensure customer technical needs are met throughout the sales and support lifecycle
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field
- 1β3 years of experience in technical support, applications engineering, or field service, ideally with industrial sensors, instrumentation, or process equipment in industries such as oil & gas, food & beverage, chemicals, printing, manufacturing, pharma processing, etc.
- Solid understanding of mechanical installation practices (flanges, fittings, tank/pipe mounting)
- Familiarity with electronics configuration and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, HART, 4-20mA, RS-485, etc.)
- Basic understanding of process control systems (PLCs, DCS, SCADA)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills β able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Hands-on experience using 3D CAD software like SolidEdge, Solidworks, Inventor, Fusion 360 and/or AutoCAD
- Ability to travel occasionally for on-site installations or customer visits
- Fluent English; additional languages a plus, given Rheonics' international customer base
Desirable
- Prior experience with viscosity, density, or other inline process sensors
- Experience writing technical documentation, application notes, or case studies
- Exposure to CRM systems (HubSpot or similar) for tracking customer/partner activity
- Experience working with distributors or channel partners in a technical capacity
- Knowledge or familiarity with Python, C++, Matlab, etc.
- Basic commercial/sales acumen β comfortable discussing pricing and preparing quotations
- Experience with cross-cultural, international customer communication
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools, Jira and Confluence, and Adobe Program Family.
- Ability to work in other languages like Spanish, German, Portuguese, French, etc.
- Live in Lima, Peru.
