Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Application Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will provide technical support for product development and manufacturing processes, ensuring product designs meet customer requirements, quality standards, and performance expectations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management to support new product launches, continuous improvement initiatives, and product optimization efforts.

Full time Responsibilities Provide Application Engineering support for new program launches. Lead product research and development projects and provide regular progress updates to senior leadership. Review and assess product designs for feasibility, manufacturability, and compliance with engineering best practices.

Participate in critical design reviews and support the resolution of product design issues. Review and validate engineering documentation, including: Component and assembly drawings GD&T callouts and tolerance stack-up analyses Finite Element Analysis (FEA) DVP&R documentation and customer specifications FMEAs and Control Plans Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering teams on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) initiatives. Support warranty reduction and product quality improvement activities.

Identify, evaluate, and implement product cost-reduction opportunities. Assist Quality and Manufacturing teams with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support Lean manufacturing principles.

Maintain workplace organization and 5S standards. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality management requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Experience in automotive product development, including mechanisms and/or structures. Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.

Red X, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement training. Strong understanding of: Other automotive core quality tools Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as stamping, molding, assembly, and welding. Automotive manufacturing experience.

Strong presentation and project management skills. Valid passport and willingness to travel to customer and supplier locations as required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
