The Application Analyst is responsible for business analysis, application maintenance, and support services to users of the Business Systems function to minimize service disruption and facilitate operations. This position reports to the Manager, Application Development and Integration. CPA Alberta has offices in Edmonton and Calgary and provides hybrid telecommuting opportunities (working from home a maximum of 3 days a week). What You Bring Post-secondary education in a related technical discipline 3 to 5 years of specialist knowledge of technical applications and demonstrated experience with implementing new software and administrating systems Experience with SQL queries, SQL Server Experience with DevOps concepts and strategies Knowledge of: Reporting technologies like SSRS, Crystal Reports, Magento BI and Power BI Visual Studio, source control systems ITIL best practices for support delivery Azure / Cloud technologies and services Agile techniques, approaches and methodologies Experience with Microsoft Office Products Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset Customer service orientation and problem-solving attitude What You Will Be Doing Provide application configuration and maintenance for business systems by becoming an expert on the use of all aspects of CPA Alberta’s system and services Collaborate with project managers and project sponsors to determine project scope and vision Conduct interviews to gather user requirements via various methods Work with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements and requests Test and integrate applications Receive and log development item requests in DevOps Investigate and resolve application errors, data discrepancies and queries; elevate to vendors and internal development team as required Provide a high level of customer service to all clients Receive and log requests for support Create documentation to support business units, including system and end‑user training documentation Train end users on new or modified systems Working Specifications Fast paced work environment. Some travel may be required. Occasional work outside of regular working hours may be required. This position can be in either Calgary or Edmonton.
