Job Description In this role, you will provide support to the North American Securities Lending Trading Desk by analyzing and instructing Equity and Fixed Income trade bookings as well as resolving escalated internal partner inquiries. You will support the Business Unit in assuring optimal efficiency and effectiveness of Business Unit operations including mitigating risk, closing training/processing gaps, and supporting the implementation and enhancement of transaction booking. All responsibilities carried out in accordance with Code of Conduct, RBC Values and Guiding Principles ensuring adherence to Privacy Principles.
What will you do? Field and resolve escalations relating to internal cash and position reconciliation through a variety of channels, and provide a disciplined approach, using enterprise tools and best practices, in providing support/guidance to the Business Unit. Review discrepancies for trends/gaps and efficiencies providing timely/accurate feedback including process improvement recommendations.
Monitor and analyze a variety of daily/weekly reports and statistics to ensure processing accuracy, timeliness, and consistency. Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with Service Partners providing assistance and guidance as required. Adapt to the changing business environment demonstrating a sense of urgency to deliver quality service within established time frames in a high profile setting.
Ensure continuous improvement by identifying gaps/efficiencies. Investigate and resolve breaks/discrepancies within cut‑off timelines. Escalate aged or high‑value exceptions and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders for resolution.
Prepare reconciliation reports and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards. Settlement of US Fixed Income Products for business lines based in Canada and the U.S. Take ownership of inquiries, deliver on commitments to colleagues and Front Office Business partners.
Assist multiple securities lending operations teams with transaction fulfillment and cross‑coverage. Gain expert organizational knowledge and deep understanding of securities settlements operational environment. Apply experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments.
Work closely with securities lending team managers to cross‑train, provide additional resource support and act as SME across multiple settlements teams in a variety of scenarios. Develop, implement and maintain business solutions based on business analysis outcomes to improve the organization’s business effectiveness and efficiency. What do you need to succeed?
Must‑have: Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint Post‑secondary degree, preferable in a business related field Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Ability to multi‑task and prioritize in a time‑sensitive environment Working on Canadian statutory holidays is required. Time in lieu will be provided Analytical thinking Nice‑to‑have: Knowledge of Fixed Income settlements (DTCC in particular). Experience with ADP/Broadridge related functions an asset.
