  • Nature-Based Solutions – a project developer focused on nature conservation and the restoration of natural ecosystems


The Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) team develops and supports projects focused on nature conservation, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable land management, with the objective of generating high-integrity carbon credits alongside positive environmental and social impact

Taranis is seeking an Analyst, Nature-Based Solutions to work at our London office to support the origination, assessment, development, and management of NBS projects.

The Analyst will work closely with the Investment Manager and Technical Manager, interacting with project developers, technical consultants, and internal stakeholders across finance, legal and E&S.


Main Responsibilities


Project Screening & Development

Support Taranis’s NBS development pipeline:

  • Screen and evaluate new NBS opportunities to support the growth of Taranis' NBS project portfolio.
  • Conduct introductory discussions and screening calls with project developers and potential partners.
  • Coordinate and support due diligence activities covering technical, financial, legal, environmental, and social aspects.
  • Analyse project business plans, budgets, carbon credit generation assumptions.
  • Identify risks, areas of uncertainty.
  • Assist in the preparation of investment dossiers, including slide decks, memos, and other decision-making materials.
  • Create and maintain pipeline and technical databases and reporting tools.


Market & Policy Analysis

  • Conduct policy and regulatory assessments covering carbon taxes, compliance mechanisms, and voluntary carbon market developments.
  • Assess market trends affecting NBS projects, including pricing, market demand, methodological developments, and regulatory / policy changes.
  • Benchmark project developers, investors, methodologies, and market participants to support strategic decision-making.


Internal / Group-level Initiatives

  • Support annual budget and mid-term outlook exercises.
  • Develop and maintain project business plans and financial models, including carbon credit volumes, revenues, capex, opex.
  • Prepare presentations and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.


Main Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Environmental Studies, Forestry, Agriculture, Geography, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience through internships, graduate programmes, consulting, investment, sustainability, environmental markets, project development, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Rigor, attention to details.
  • Demonstrated interest in climate finance, carbon markets, natural capital.
  • Understanding of financial modelling and project finance concepts, including NPV, IRR, discount rates, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Fluency in English required; French is a strong plus. Additional languages (Spanish, Portuguese, etc.) would be appreciated.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with carbon standards, AFOLU projects, or nature-based solutions.

The position involves travel, including field visits to project sites located in remote locations across Africa, Latin America.
