About the Role We are seeking an experienced AI Agentic Developer / GenAI Engineer to spearhead next-generation AI-powered development initiatives. This role will focus on designing and delivering enterprise-grade GenAI applications and agentic workflows that redefine digital and retail experiences while driving innovation across AI-powered engineering platforms. Job Title: Senior AI Agentic Developer / GenAI Engineer Location: 100% Remote Job Type: Direct Contract/ T4 Contract (6+ Months) Note: Candidates must be authorized to work anywhere in the Canada without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities Design, develop, deploy, and maintain AI-powered applications using Python/FastAPI backends, React/TypeScript frontends, and Google Cloud Vertex AI Take full end-to-end ownership of assigned GenAI systems including architecture, feature delivery, operational readiness, production support, and cost optimization Lead by example in adopting AI-augmented development workflows using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, and similar tools Collaborate with solution engineers, architects, and product teams to define scalable technical solutions aligned with business and architectural standards Implement advanced LLM orchestration patterns including prompt engineering, RAG, multi-agent workflows, and structured output generation Build and maintain observability pipelines for AI platforms including trace analysis, token usage monitoring, cost tracking, and quality metrics Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineering teams on GenAI development practices and AI tooling Perform cross-platform analysis across backend services, frontend systems, and AI platforms to identify optimization opportunities Troubleshoot, test, and implement software enhancements across the full stack Ensure timely delivery of AI initiatives while proactively communicating risks, blockers, and operational impacts Monitor AI system performance using observability tools such as LangFuse, Grafana, Dynatrace, and Splunk Support planned deployments and production releases during off-hours when required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience 5+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2+ years focused on AI/ML or GenAI applications Proven experience delivering production-grade AI systems with end-to-end ownership Strong full-stack engineering experience across Python and TypeScript/React ecosystems Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical decisions across teams Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to technical and non-technical audiences Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities across platforms and services Experience integrating emerging AI technologies into enterprise engineering workflows Strong understanding of microservice design patterns and distributed systems Knowledge of responsible AI practices including bias, safety, and ethical AI considerations Experience working in Agile environments using Jira and Confluence Retail industry experience is a plus Required Skills AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar) Generative AI application development and GenAI design patterns Enterprise GenAI platforms such as Google Vertex AI, Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or similar technologies LLM observability and tracing platforms such as LangFuse or LangSmith Prompt engineering techniques including chain-of-thought, few-shot learning, and structured outputs Python, FastAPI, async programming, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy ORM React, TypeScript, Zustand state management, Material-UI (MUI) Data visualization libraries such as Recharts or D3.js MySQL/PostgreSQL, query optimization, Alembic migrations Git, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD Docker and containerization technologies Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, IAM) Authentication and authorization technologies including OAuth 2.0, Okta, JWT, and RBACK Kubernetes and container orchestration Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, and Splunk monitoring RESTful API design patterns and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation JSON, YAML, and modern Python tooling such as Poetry and UV package manager Preferred Skills Experience working in Agile environments using Jira and Confluence Retail industry experience is a plus Working at GSPANN GSPANN is a diverse, prosperous, and rewarding place to work.
