The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is an advanced practitioner, prepared at the Master of Nursing level or higher. The APRN advances oncology nursing practice as an expert clinician, interdisciplinary consultant, educator, researcher, and nursing leader. The APRN achieves this through clinical support, education, research, organizational support, quality initiatives and professional growth, and is responsive to the dynamic needs of the organization, staff and patients.
Position: 1.0 FTE/full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑4:30 pm (some flexibility). Responsibilities Expert clinician Interdisciplinary consultant Educator Researcher: translate research into nursing practice and participate in nursing research Nurse leader Qualifications Required Master’s Degree in Nursing Registered Nurse licensure Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent) with renewal required every two years Current Washington State RN license or NLC multistate license with primary state of residence in WA (waived under specific circumstances, subject to approval) Knowledge of differential diagnoses and treatments in comprehensive, holistic patient assessments Ability to design, implement, and evaluate innovative individual and/or population‑based programs of care Consult with staff on assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care, serving as a role model and resource for staff skill development Lead as a consultant and change agent in advancing nursing practice among nurses and across organizations Contribute clinical expertise and nursing perspectives to decision‑making processes through committees, project development, and work groups aligned with organizational mission and values Lead selected projects or programs focusing on fiscal responsibility, quality and patient safety Develop collaborative inter‑professional relationships to enhance clinical care and achieve positive outcomes Interpret multiple dimensions of nursing care requiring system‑level resources and provide leadership to secure needed resources Advance nursing practice through innovative evidence‑based guidelines, standards and policies Communicate information and provide education on nursing practice advancements within the organization and to the community Generate and acquire scientific knowledge to maintain expert clinical practice and best‑practice outcomes Foster collegial relations with APRNs elsewhere, and participate in professional organization activities promoting the nursing profession and its relationship with consumers Preferred Oncology patient care experience ANCC recognized specialty certification At least 2 years of relevant patient care experience Salary The annual base salary range for this position is $126,984.00 to $200,678.00; pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
