Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are an independent medical provider group seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to care for patients at a detox facility in Burns, Tennessee. Our group provides the facility’s medical and psych services, including care during detoxification and weekly clinic appointments with patients. This position follows a rotating schedule of seven consecutive days working, followed by seven consecutive days off.
The first days of recovery can be physically and emotionally difficult. We want patients to have a provider who listens, takes their concerns seriously, and helps them feel safe while making careful clinical decisions.
You’ll be part of a team that shares knowledge, supports one another, and works together to give patients consistent, thoughtful care.
What you’ll do
- Complete admission assessments and ongoing medical evaluations during your scheduled rotation.
- Assess and manage withdrawal symptoms in accordance with clinical protocols.
- See patients for scheduled weekly clinic appointments, address medical concerns, and provide follow-up care.
- Order and review medications, laboratory tests, and other appropriate services within the scope of your license.
- Recognize changes in a patient’s condition and arrange a higher level of care when needed.
- Document care accurately and promptly.
- Work closely with our medical team and the facility’s nursing and treatment staff.
- A Tennessee-licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Appropriate prescriptive authority for the role.
- Experience in detoxification, addiction medicine, behavioral health, emergency medicine, or inpatient care preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and a collaborative approach to patient care.
