Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who provide support for families facing dementia, help to prevent or manage complex issues, offer tailored health advice, emotional support and facilitate links with other health and care professionals. For many families, they can be a lifeline. The Herefordshire and Worcestershire Admiral Nurse Service is a small, supportive team of nurses working across the 2 counties. We seek a passionate, caring and confident nurse to provide specialist one‑to‑one support, guidance and practical solutions to families and carers, working alongside colleagues in Older Adult Community Mental Health and promoting Best Practice in Dementia Care across the Trust. As an Admiral Nurse you will have access to an excellent programme of Continuing Professional Development and comprehensive clinical supervision through the Trust and Dementia UK. Main Duties Specialist bio‑psychosocial assessment and support for carers/families affected by dementia who have complex needs Facilitation of education and training for staff in the delivery of evidence‑based dementia care Support with policy development and quality improvement in dementia care Job Details Part‑time 22.5 hours over 3 days Work base: Kidderminster Hospital, F Block, Kidderminster, DY11 6RJ Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 a year pro rata (Band 6, Permanent contract) Working pattern: Part‑time, 22.5 hours over 3 days; role based in Kidderminster Hospital. Qualifications Registered nurse qualification (RMN/RGN/RNLD) Evidence of continuing professional development/training in dementia care Commitment to continued professional and practice development via Dementia UK Admiral Nurse Academy Completion of Dementia UK Pre‑Admiral Nurse e‑learning course prior to starting in post Original certificates to verify qualifications at point of offer Knowledge & Skills Person‑centred care delivery Critical reflective practice Strong communication skills Evidence‑based clinical practice in dementia care Understanding of Admiral Nursing and its application Deep understanding of dementia and its impact on carers/families Use of evidence‑based practice in dementia care Ability to communicate clearly in English (spoken & written) Positive attitude and openness to feedbackAbility to meet travel requirements of the role Experience Considerable experience working with people with dementia and their carers Completion of holistic nursing assessments Providing bio‑psychosocial interventions Autonomous practitioner experience Collaborative and multi‑agency working Benefits 27 days leave plus bank holidays, up to 33 days with long service Generous NHS pension and enhanced pay for unsocial hours Flexible and agile working opportunities Great maternity, paternity and adoption support Wide range of supportive staff networks Health and wellbeing opportunities Additional Information UK registration required.
