Legal Administrative Assistant – Ministry of the Attorney General’s Criminal Law DivisionThunder Bay, Ontario, P7E6H8Become a Legal Administrative Assistant with the Ministry of the Attorney General’s Criminal Law Division and play a crucial role in the justice system. Your efforts will support criminal prosecutions and ensure the smooth operation of court activities, directly impacting the lives of Ontarians.- Employment type: Full Time- Job occupation type: Administrative Assistant- Total positions: 2- Wage: $28.14 - $32.82 per hour- Closing date: 7/23/2026Qualifications- Typing speed of 50 words per minute and 70% accuracy in spelling and grammar testing.- Advanced oral and written French language skills; proficiency confirmed before hire.- Knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, criminal statutes, rules, regulations, and policies.- Familiarity with criminal prosecution programs and court procedures.- Ability to explain court procedures and legal terms verbally and in writing.- Prepare legal documents and correspondence using correct terminology.- Maintain professionalism in all interactions.- Work independently and as part of a team.- Prioritize and manage workload to meet conflicting deadlines.- Organize files and documents, apply administrative procedures, and handle confidential information with discretion.- Update files, schedule meetings, arrange travel, order transcripts and translations, and process expense documents.- Apply records information management retention schedules.- Proficient with office equipment, software, and AV/IT for case presentation.How we support diversity, inclusion and accessibilityWe are building an inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve.
