The Role An opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Addiction Nurses within East Renfrewshire Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service.
Glasgow Alcohol & Drug Recovery Service is committed to providing high quality care using an integrated model of care delivery. You would be working as part of an integrated team dealing with complex clients with drug and alcohol problems and associated physical and mental health problems. You will be expected to work closely with CMHT, Children and Families and Criminal Justice Services amongst others.
You should be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern Permanent, Full time Shift Pattern - Monday Friday 9am 5pm Base location - St Andrews House Key Responsibilities Function as an Addiction Nurse within a multidisciplinary team, managing complex caseloads and undertaking care coordination when required. Complete holistic assessments, including risk assessment, and plan, implement, and evaluate care to support recovery.
Deliver nursing care in the least restrictive and least disruptive manner appropriate to individual needs. Identify, coordinate, and respond to health promotion needs to improve physical and mental wellbeing. Recognise and respond to vulnerabilities, including issues related to gender, health, domestic abuse, adult/child protection, and self-harm.
Build therapeutic, culturally sensitive relationships with patients and carers, ensuring dignity, equality, and respect. Work collaboratively with other agencies and services, including interpreter services, to support effective communication. Deliver evidence-based psychological, trauma-informed, and therapeutic interventions within agreed competency levels.
Administer prescribed medication and treatments safely, monitor effectiveness, and manage side effects. Provide person-centred, values-based care that promotes wellbeing and prevents relapse. Ensure all nursing practice (including delegated tasks) complies with the NMC Code and relevant legislation.
Contribute to clinical governance through effective communication, leadership, policy awareness, audit, and evidence-based practice. Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job First level Registered Nurse Post registration nursing experience with relevant competences. Evidence of continuing professional development Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills Ability to fulfil main duties and responsibilities as outlined in the job description.
