Accounts Payable Clerk Toomebridge (Maternity Cover)

We are delighted to be partnering with an established construction business to recruit an Accounts Payable Clerk for their finance team based in Toomebridge.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional with a background in construction who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can confidently manage key accounting processes. You'll take ownership of the Purchase Ledger function, CIS administration and supplier reconciliations while also supporting wider finance activities and project management systems.

This is a 9-month maternity cover contract, with the potential for extension beyond the initial contract period based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Purchase Ledger function, ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and on time
• Process and administer the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), including subcontractor verification and monthly returns
• Complete supplier statement reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain accurate financial records and support month-end processes
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations
• Act as the internal lead for project management software, supporting system administration, user adoption and process improvements
• Assist with financial reporting and wider finance administration as required
• Support the finance team with ad hoc duties and projects
• Ensure all financial information is accurate, complete and maintained in line with company procedures

Who We're Looking For

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger, Finance Assistant or similar role
• Strong working knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
• Solid Purchase Ledger experience, including invoice processing and supplier reconciliations
• Previous experience working within the construction industry
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Confident communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• Sage 200 experience would be advantageous
• Experience with project management software would be beneficial
• IATI qualification or study towards a relevant finance qualification would be advantageous
• Intrastat experience would be desirable
