Job Description Job Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead core accounting operations in Houston, Texas. This position will oversee the accuracy of the general ledger, guide the month-end close process, and support reliable financial reporting across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a hands-on approach to reconciliations and journal entries, and the ability to coordinate effectively with auditors and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities: • Direct the monthly close cycle to ensure financial results are completed accurately and within established deadlines. • Oversee general ledger activity, maintaining the integrity of account balances and supporting documentation. • Review and approve journal entries, ensuring transactions are recorded in alignment with accounting standards and company policies. • Lead account reconciliation activities, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. • Prepare and analyze financial reports to support leadership decision-making and operational visibility. • Coordinate audit readiness efforts by organizing schedules, responding to requests, and supporting financial statement audit processes. • Monitor accounting workflows and strengthen controls that improve consistency, accuracy, and compliance. • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and address accounting issues affecting reporting outcomes.• Proven experience in an accounting leadership role such as Accounting Manager or Accounting Supervisor. • Strong command of month-end close procedures, including review of entries, accruals, and supporting schedules. • Solid understanding of general ledger management and account reconciliation practices. • Experience supporting financial statement audits and working with external or internal auditors. • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing journal entries with a high level of accuracy. • Ability to interpret financial data, identify inconsistencies, and recommend corrective actions. • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
