About AtlasBrands
We're building and scaling high-velocity DTC brands. In just a few months, we scaled from $0 to $3M MRR and from a team of 3 to a team of ~30. We're now pushing toward 9 figures — and building a world-class team of A+ talent that can support, sustain, and accelerate that level of growth.
At this stage, growth is no longer just about products or marketing. It's about people. The next phase of this company will be defined by who we bring in — the quality of talent, the speed at which we hire, and the systems we build around it.
Role Objective
We are seeking an autonomous, forward-thinking Accounting Manager to transition our financial operations from an external bookkeeping agency to an internal, in-house function. In this role, you will take complete ownership of the books, month-end close, and financial reporting across our entire parent company and its portfolio of Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) brands.
You will combine deep, hands-on e-commerce accounting knowledge with team oversight and process improvement. You will manage a dedicated Bookkeeper who handles day-to-day data entry, ensuring their work is accurate, establishing internal controls, and leveraging AI tools to build scalable, automated reporting systems as we continue to acquire and launch new brands.
What You'll Do
- In-House Transition & Strategy: Lead the migration of accounting functions away from our current external agency; establish baseline financial controls, workflows, and a scalable architecture for growth.
- Multi-Entity & Parent Company Accounting: Oversee accounting across all brands and legal entities, expertly managing intercompany transactions, shared expenses, and complex payment allocations.
- Team Supervision & Review: Manage, coach, and review the work of an internal Bookkeeper. Audit daily bookkeeping for absolute precision, resolve discrepancies, and outline clear operational guidelines.
- E-Commerce & DTC Reconciliations: Handle specialized high-volume e-commerce workflows, ensuring seamless reconciliation of inventory tracking, COGS, Shopify sales loops, and payment processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).
- Month-End Close & Reporting: Own the entire month-end close process to deliver timely, accurate GAAP financial statements broken down by specific entity, individual brand, and consolidated group performance.
- AI-Driven Automation: Actively use modern AI engineering tools (such as Claude Code) to build dynamic financial dashboards, optimize reporting speeds, and automate data plumbing across our systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience, featuring clear success in managing accounting for a parent company with multiple legal entities and working extensively within the DTC/e-commerce sector.
- People Management: Direct experience managing, training, and reviewing the daily outputs of a Bookkeeper or Junior Accountant.
- Technical & AI Skills: High proficiency with QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel/Google Sheets. Proven practical application of AI tools (e.g., Claude Code) to improve processes and build workflows.
- Core Accounting Competence: Deep familiarity with handling multi-state sales tax nexus, intercompany eliminations, landing costs, and multi-warehouse inventory valuations.
- Mindset: An entrepreneurial "builder" mentality. Someone who can seamlessly balance high-level strategic oversight with rolling up their sleeves to troubleshoot a data discrepancy.
Working Hours & Culture
- Role Timeline: Full-time hire.
- Async-First: Global, remote-first team setup requiring core daily overlap with US EST business hours for team syncs and cross-functional alignment. Also for any offshore hires, must be willing to overlap at least 4+ EST hours (between 9am-5pm EST)
- Compensation: Competitive monthly salary scaling with operational scope and multi-brand experience.
