Accountant
True Wealth
Job Description
The leads are already flowing. We need the tax agent.
Most accountants spend years building a client base. Ours is queuing up.
The True Wealth business group generates hundreds of leads every week through its marketing engine — everyday Australians who need this year’s return done, overdue lodgements sorted, and someone reliable in their corner. What we don’t have is the right accountant to turn them into clients.
We’re looking for a registered tax agent to take accountability for a standalone accounting function within our established business group. You’ll hold the practice’s tax agent registration, own the tax return engine end to end, and run it with genuine autonomy — with the leads, systems, and support of the wider business behind you.
What makes this role different
The pipeline is real. Plenty of leads a week, already generated and already warm. Your job is converting and serving them well — not hunting for work.
Accountability without the blank page. This is a standalone role with real autonomy — you’re the registered agent, and how the work runs is up to you. But you’re stepping into an established group with leads, infrastructure, and a director backing you, not starting a business from scratch.
A clear roadmap. Start by converting the lead flow into a profitable tax return practice. Then take on SMSF administration for our existing SMSF clients, extend tax services to True Wealth’s advice clients, and help build a specialised, systemised SMSF accounting offering over time.
Variety that keeps you sharp. Individual returns at volume, plus companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSF work, BAS/IAS, and bookkeeping — no two days the same.
What you’ll be doing
Converting inbound tax return leads into clients — prompt follow-up, document and receipt collection, and onboarding.
Preparing and lodging individual income tax returns at volume, including overdue and catch-up returns.
Preparing returns and financial statements for companies, trusts, and partnerships.
Assisting with BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement, and liaising with the ATO where required.
Providing SMSF administration, financial statements, tax returns, and audit coordination for our existing SMSF clients.
Providing bookkeeping support for clients and across the broader business group.
Building the systems, workflows, and quality standards for the practice as its responsible registered agent.
What you’ll bring
Registration as a tax agent with the Tax Practitioners Board — or confirmed eligibility, with registration in place before you start.
Experience preparing and lodging Australian individual income tax returns, ideally at volume in a tax or public practice environment.
Experience with compliance work across a range of entity types.
Strong phone confidence — you can engage a stranger, win their trust, and bring them on board as a client.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to carry professional responsibility independently.
A commercial, practical mindset and the drive to make a high-volume practice run smoothly.
Bonus points for overdue/catch-up return experience, SMSF administration and audit coordination, bookkeeping experience, and familiarity with public practice tax software.
Why True Wealth
We’re a values-driven business group — integrity, expertise, professionalism, responsiveness, transparency, and innovation — with a marketing engine that delivers, an established advice client base, and a leadership team investing seriously in this function. You get the upside of ownership-level accountability without the risk of going out on your own.
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
