About the opportunity:
Assist the Senior Financial Accountant and Financial Accountants with various responsibilities, including preparing and analysing monthly management accounts, statutory accounts, and year-end audits. Support balance sheet reconciliations, period-end accruals, transaction reviews, and financial reporting and analysis.
What you offer us:
- Preparing and reviewing monthly financial reporting, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reporting
- Completing balance sheet, General Ledger, clearing account and intercompany reconciliations
- Processing period-end journals, including accruals, standard journals and adjusting entries
- Supporting monthly management reporting, including variance analysis and financial commentary
- Assisting with BAS, FBT, tax and other statutory compliance requirements
- Supporting the year-end and annual audit process and liaising with external auditors
- Supporting the management of the fixed asset register
- Assisting with the preparation of the monthly Board Pack
- Undertaking financial analysis, cost and benchmarking analysis as required
- Identifying and contributing to improvements in finance processes, reporting and controls
- Building positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting
- A minimum of 3 years' accounting experience
- Qualified CA/CPA is desirable
- Strong understanding of financial principles and financial reporting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Advanced experience with accounting software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
- A proactive, can-do approach and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
