We are currently partnering with a leading construction business to recruit an Accountant to join their Sydney-based finance team.

The Role:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing, reconciliation and reporting of financial information.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Completing daily bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
• Assisting with month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments and general ledger reconciliations
• Reconciling overhead and balance sheet accounts and providing commentary on key movements and variancesWorking closely with the Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate invoice coding and allocation
• Preparing monthly BAS workpapers
• Assisting with monthly management reporting and financial forecasting
• Managing and reconciling retention trust accounts
• Assisting with bank guarantee and bond administration
• Preparing ad hoc financial reports, reconciliations and analysis
• Supporting continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting

About You

• 3+ years' experience in an Accountant or similar role
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial reporting systems
• Excellent attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills
• A proactive approach with the ability to work collaboratively across a finance team
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A genuine interest in developing your accounting career
• Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration; CPA qualification will also be considered
