Accountant

We're growing! At Vistra + Biz Latin Hub, we're looking for an Accountant to join our team in Colombia.

We're seeking a professional with a solid technical foundation and a client-focused mindset, capable of managing a client portfolio while ensuring full compliance with accounting and tax regulations, delivering high-quality financial information and consultative support.

This role is ideal for a proactive professional with strong technical expertise and leadership skills, able to oversee multiple accounts, guide junior team members, and communicate complex financial matters clearly to clients.

What will you do?

• Manage and oversee the accounting operations of a client portfolio.
• Review and ensure the accuracy of records, reports, and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Lead the preparation and review of financial statements and statutory reports.
• Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns (income tax, VAT, withholdings, ICA, etc.).
• Supervise and support junior accountants, providing guidance and quality control.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies and complex accounting issues.
• Support and lead audit processes, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing accounting and tax advisory.
• Manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.

What are we looking for?

• Professional degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience (preferably in outsourcing or consulting).
• Solid knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and/or local GAAP) and Colombian tax regulations.
• Proven experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior team members.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Intermediate English proficiency — able to independently manage client relationships and communicate effectively in English (both written and verbal).

Nice to have

• Experience in client-facing roles within professional services or outsourcing firms.
• Exposure to tax and statutory audits, including audit process leadership.
• Ability to generate strategic insights from financial data.
• Continuous improvement mindset and experience implementing efficiencies.
