VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with an established accountancy practice based in Newry in their recruitment of an Interim Audit Accountant.
This is a short-term interim assignment and would ideally suit someone with previous experience working within an accountancy practice or a strong background in audit.
The successful candidate will provide additional support to the audit team, with a particular focus on the preparation and completion of audit files. This is a hands-on assignment and requires someone who can quickly get up to speed and work independently across a portfolio of clients.

About you
- Previous audit experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice
- Qualified, Part-Qualified or Qualified by Experience
- Strong hands-on experience preparing audit files
- Good understanding of financial statements and year-end accounts
- Confident working across multiple client assignments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
- Available at short notice
What you'll do
- Prepare audit files from planning through to completion
- Prepare supporting audit schedules and working papers
- Review financial information and supporting documentation
- Perform substantive testing across key areas of the financial statements
- Identify and investigate discrepancies or areas requiring further information
- Liaise with clients to obtain supporting documentation and resolve queries
