Role Description The Accountant role at Aggunj is a full-time, on-site position based in New Delhi. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including booking of invoices, maintaining ledgers, and overseeing accounts payable and receivable.

The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, assisting with budgeting and cost tracking, and reconciling bank and vendor accounts. The Accountant will ensure compliance with relevant tax and regulatory requirements, support internal and external audits, and maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records. The role also includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support business decisions in a fast-paced fashion environment.
Qualifications

  • Strong skills in financial accounting and bookkeeping, including ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Indian taxation, GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance requirements, with experience preparing supporting documentation.
  • Ability to prepare financial statements, assist in budgeting, cost monitoring, and support management with clear financial reports.
  • Attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and the ability to maintain accuracy under deadlines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA) are an advantage.
  • Prior experience in retail, fashion, or manufacturing environments is preferred but not mandatory.
