Account Director, Paid Search β Ecommerce

Position Overview
The Account Director, Paid Search β Ecommerce will act as a strategic partner to LDX Digitalβs ecommerce clients, leading account direction, performance strategy, and growth initiatives across Google Ads.
This role sits above traditional account management and focuses on driving measurable business outcomes, not just campaign oversight. You will work closely with founders and marketing leaders to scale paid acquisition while maintaining efficiency and alignment with overall business goals.
The ideal candidate has experience in agency or consulting environments within the ecommerce paid search space and understands how to translate performance marketing into real business growth. You should be comfortable advising not only on media buying, but also on funnel performance, creative direction, and operational considerations that impact results.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the strategic direction of assigned client accounts
- Lead growth initiatives across Google Ads, including Search, YouTube, Shopping, and Performance Max
- Advise on scaling strategies while maintaining efficiency across CPA, MER, and contribution margin
- Identify opportunities across budgets, channels, creatives, and funnels to drive growth
Client Partnership
- Act as the primary strategic point of contact for clients
- Lead client calls, performance reviews, and strategic planning sessions
- Provide clear, data-backed recommendations and direction
- Build strong relationships with founders, operators, and marketing teams
Performance Oversight
- Work closely with media buyers to ensure execution aligns with strategy
- Interpret performance data and guide optimizations and priorities
- Identify risks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement across accounts
- Ensure campaigns scale effectively while maintaining strong fundamentals
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with creative strategists and media buyers to align on testing and execution
- Provide input on creative direction, messaging, and testing frameworks
- Ensure internal teams remain aligned with client goals and strategy
Strategic Planning
- Develop growth roadmaps, testing plans, and scaling strategies
- Align budget allocation with performance goals and business objectives
- Continuously refine strategy based on data, testing outcomes, and market trends
Qualifications
- 4β7+ years of experience in performance marketing, account strategy, or client-facing roles
- Strong experience with Google Ads for ecommerce brands, including Search, YouTube, Shopping, and Performance Max
- Background in an agency, consulting, or performance-driven environment
- Proven ability to scale accounts while maintaining or improving efficiency
- Strong understanding of direct-response marketing and full-funnel strategy
- Ability to translate performance metrics into business insights and recommendations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead strategic conversations
- Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple accounts in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Experience
- Experience working for or operating an in-house ecommerce brand
- Exposure to financial metrics such as MER, contribution margin, and forecasting
- Strong understanding of landing pages, funnels, and conversion optimization

Compensation: $120,000β$140,000 annually
Final compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
Benefits: Full-time W-2 employees are eligible for company-sponsored medical coverage, with LDX covering 100% of the employee-only premium. Dental and vision coverage are also available, along with employer-paid basic life and long-term disability insurance.
