Job Overview NHS Lothian Acute, Department of Cancer Services – Specialist Nurse, Band 6, Gynae‑Oncology. 30 hours per week, permanent, part‑time (pro‑rata salary). Key Responsibilities Work closely with Surgical and Oncology services to support patients throughout their cancer journey. Provide nursing care in a part‑time setting, maintaining professional standards of care.

Act autonomously within the scope of practice. Qualifications First‑level registered nurse with experience in Oncology and either Surgery or Palliative Care. Desirable: further related study.

Ability to work autonomously and independently. Benefits Hourly rate adjusted to maintain pay, with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate to offset reduced hours. Full support for disabled candidates and those with long‑term conditions or who are neurodivergent.

Vetting and Checks This post requires a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme membership or record. Applicants not currently PVG members for the required regulatory group (i.e., child and/or adult) will need to complete a disclosure and assessment process before appointment. Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check than is currently the case.
