245768 (AJM) - Clinical Nurse Specialist (Travel Medicine)

NHS Lothian is excited to be recruiting to a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Travel Medicine) at WGH (community spokes across Lothian with vacancies predominantly in South East Edinburgh). Role Responsibilities: To undertake the role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) utilising specialist clinical knowledge to inform decision making and clinical judgement by independently managing the care of patients who wish to travel to other countries. This includes high‑level specialist clinical assessment, decision making and clinical judgement to formulate appropriate vaccination, treatment plans and risk reduction advice.

The post holder will provide specialist advice and support for clients to aid in their decision making when travelling to countries that require additional vaccination or specialised travel medicines. Provide specialist advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients and relatives. Support the development of the service to improve practice and work collaboratively across healthcare boundaries, implementing and evaluating evidence‑based standards, guidelines and policies.
