Job Description
Manager, Business Development - Health Innovation Hub Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Business Development Manager is responsible for business development activities on behalf of Innovation. The Manager will identify, develop, and manage strategic and collaborative opportunities with partners from the private, public, and research sectors. The role will interface with internal clinical departments to mobilize the launch of new services and demonstrate innovation thought leadership.
Externally, the Manager will engage with the innovation ecosystem funders, private industry, academia, start‑up companies, government departments, and other partners. The Manager will provide leadership and support strategies and operational plans consistent with legislation, accountability frameworks, and the mission, vision, and values of the organization. About You Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline with a strong foundation in business, innovation, and/or health is required.
Proven experience in strategic planning, particularly in public institutions. Minimum five years’ experience in management and supervision of personnel. Proven track record in partnership‑building and investment attraction.
Experience managing multidisciplinary initiatives and projects and engaging stakeholder liaison. Experience in the local health sciences research environment is an asset. Business planning and budget management experience.
Experience engaging, mentoring, and empowering teams. Ability to collaborate positively and participatively to fulfill the mission, vision, goals, and objectives of an organization. Experience applying project management principles and implementation.
Demonstrated knowledge of policy impact and development. Knowledge of health care organizations and the health sector. Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and interact with all clients in scope. Ability to build engagement among peers and business leaders to support new strategies and change management. High level of competence in both written and verbal communication.
Experience working with a diversity of staff and stakeholders, with knowledge of cultural competence, diversity, and social inclusion. Ability to analyze and interpret data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks related to the workforce. Sound knowledge of information systems and financial management.
Fluency in languages other than English is an asset. Hours Long Assignment, Full‑Time / 75 Hours Bi‑Weekly February 2026 to February 2027, approximately 12 months Compensation and Benefits $46.35 - $57.94 Hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for a benefits package that includes health, dental, travel, long‑term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
