Job Description
Hotel: Nashville-Vanderbilt (Dwtn) (BNAVB), 2613 W End Ave, 37203, Nashville, TN. Duties and Responsibilities Establish client base of individuals, organizations, associations, social, and/or corporate businesses through direct and inside selling to secure business for the hotel to meet or exceed room night sales and revenue goals. Actively prospect and qualify new business.
Achieve personal and team sales goals as assigned. Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Accurately produce and/or review all sales contracts, rate agreements, and banquet/catering event orders.
Monitor inquiry calls and provide client proposals in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures. Produce reports and sales forecasts for assigned area of responsibility. Actively participate in forecasting and goal setting, annual budget process, and development of sales and marketing plans.
Perform other duties as assigned. May serve as “manager on duty” as required. Physical and Job Requirements Frequently standing up or moving within and outside the facility.
Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds. Communication skills utilized for interacting with guests, employees, and third parties to reflect highly on the hotel, brand, and company. Reading, writing, and paperwork skills utilized often for completing documentation and training.
Mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances. Problem‑solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities frequently used. Ability to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, conventions, and other events.
May require a valid driver’s license. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, and 4 years total experience in hospitality or hotel sales and marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred. Benefits The hourly pay rate for this role is $38.46. The rate may vary and may be adjusted in the future.
