Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack - Financial Services Technology (Remote)

Head of Software Engineering Aviation & Aerospace The Company is seeking a Head of Software to take ownership of the end-to-end software strategy for a global ground network. This pivotal role involves leading the design and implementation of systems that orchestrate hardware assets, manage data flow across distributed infrastructure, and ensure the delivery of mission-critical data to a diverse customer base. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and scaling the software layer to meet the demands of rapid global expansion, with a focus on reliability, observability, and performance. As a player-coach, the Head of Software will set technical direction, lead and grow the engineering team, and remain hands-on in architecture, debugging, and critical system development. Applicants for the Head of Software position at the company should have a minimum of 7-12 years' of software engineering experience, with a proven track record in leading and managing engineering teams. A strong background in backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems is essential, as is proficiency in C/C++ and/or Rust, or experience with performance-critical systems. The role requires a technical generalist who can operate across infrastructure, backend, and system design, and who has experience in architecting and operating highly reliable, production-grade systems. The ideal candidate will have a background in high-growth or startup environments, experience with globally distributed systems, and a familiarity with edge computing or hybrid cloud architectures.
