Job Title Semiconductor Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst – Texas Institute for Electronics Position Details Open to all applicants. Weekly scheduled hours: 40. FLSA status: To be determined at offer.
Earliest start date: Ongoing. Position duration: Expected to continue. Location: Austin, TX.
Purpose The TIE Semiconductor Business Analyst Associate/Senior Business Analyst Associate reports to the Sr. Director of Business Analytics. Responsibilities include financial and business analysis for TIE’s products and services, building and maintaining financial models, guiding business strategies, and supporting grant preparation and submission activities.
Responsibilities Create, upgrade, and utilize semiconductor fabrication cost, capacity, and pricing models to provide monthly, quarterly, and annual analyses/forecasts. Provide financial forecasts and trend analysis through “what if” and sensitivity analyses. Support sales and business development teams with quantitative financial estimates for proposed product and service offerings.
Facilitate financial reviews and performance analysis to plan key financial measures such as expenses, capital, and headcount. Interface with the finance team to ensure consistency between business analytics models and other financial models, records, and forecasts. Collaborate with IT teams to implement organization-wide ERP, MES, and MIS software solutions and retrieve relevant data for modeling.
Develop performance measures assessing data trends, providing insights, supporting efficiency initiatives, and supporting investment decisions. Provide general support for TIE leadership on business analytics projects and ad hoc analysis. Support grant writing and submission activities, including grant writing, budget creation, and liaison with UT Austin offices.
Create and maintain records/databases for tracking financial metrics, quantities, intellectual property, and agreement commitments. Work with leadership and contracts staff on initiating, monitoring, and completing legal agreements and letters. Other duties as assigned.

Senior Business Analytics Associate: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or an engineering/sciences field with 2 years of experience in a related field; or Master’s degree in a business, finance, accounting, or related field. Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint) Knowledge of ERP and MIS systems and reporting tools Ability to become an expert user of software tools quickly Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent follow‑up and execution Preferred Qualifications More than 2 years of experience in finance, business, accounting, or a related field within the semiconductor industry.
Advanced proficiency in ERP and MIS systems and reporting tools. Prior experience working in the semiconductor industry. Experience with cloud‑based MES systems.
Working knowledge of 3D ICs and integration schemes. Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing. Strong financial and business analyst skills.
Experience developing client relationships. Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable manner. Salary Range TIE Pays Industry Competitive Salaries.
Working Conditions On‑site work in a scientific research environment with dynamic conditions and collaboration with multiple partners. Occasional additional hours outside standard office hours during peak periods and special events. Occasional travel may be required.
