How do engineering teams operate in an AI-first world?

It's about helping software engineering teams fundamentally change how they build, maintain, modernise and scale software by embedding AI throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). You'll work alongside engineering leaders and development teams across a portfolio of software businesses, helping them adopt AI-native engineering practices that improve productivity, reduce technical debt, accelerate delivery and modernise legacy systems. The Opportunity We're looking for a software engineer who is already using AI as part of their daily engineering workflow and is excited about helping others do the same.

This role sits at the intersection of: Software Engineering AI-Assisted Development Engineering Transformation Developer Productivity Modernisation & Technical Debt Reduction You'll work directly with engineering teams to identify opportunities where AI can create meaningful leverage across the software development lifecycle. What You'll Be Doing Work with engineering teams to embed AI across every stage of the development lifecycle: Requirements gathering and analysis Solution design and architecture Coding and implementation Testing and quality assurance Documentation Code reviews Refactoring and modernisation You'll help teams move beyond simply using AI as a coding assistant and towards AI-native development practices. Partner directly with software businesses to: Improve engineering productivity Reduce technical debt Modernise legacy applications Accelerate software delivery Improve development quality and consistency Introduce AI-first engineering workflows Projects may include: Legacy platform modernisation Codebase refactoring using AI-assisted approaches Development workflow optimisation AI-assisted testing and quality engineering Developer productivity initiatives Technical debt reduction programmes Engineering process transformation You'll rapidly test new approaches, identify what works, and help scale successful practices across multiple engineering teams.

You'll evaluate emerging AI engineering tools and techniques while helping define best practice for AI-assisted software development. What We're Looking For Strong Software Engineering Background You'll likely have 5+ years of experience as a: Senior Software Engineer Tech Lead Staff Engineer Principal Engineer You should have a strong understanding of modern software engineering practices and experience delivering complex technical initiatives. We're looking for engineers who already use AI regularly as part of how they work across the entire SDLC.
