Senior Plumbing Designer

Senior Plumbing Designer / Deputy Department Manager – Healthcare Projects Dewberry is seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer / Deputy Department Manager specializing in healthcare in Nashville, TN. The role requires an accomplished plumbing designer/engineer with 10+ years of progressive technical experience in designing plumbing systems for healthcare projects. You will provide technical oversight of multiple projects, ensuring all work meets contract specifications and technical standards, is delivered on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities Provide technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, for all plumbing engineering work on the design team. Offer technical training and development for staff. Establish and improve standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for the plumbing discipline.

Deliver immediate technical and cost‑estimate advice and decisions. Coordinate with all disciplines involved, including outside consultants. Serve as the technical interface with code officials and contractors.

Required Skills & Experience Accomplished plumbing designer/engineer with 10+ years progressive technical experience in healthcare plumbing systems. Design and evaluation experience of medical gas systems in typical hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, freestanding emergency departments, and medical office buildings. Proven success in technical oversight of multiple projects, delivering on time and within budget while meeting contract specifications and technical standards.

Self‑motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Well organized with strong note‑taking capability. Will not sponsor a new applicant for work authorization.
