Software Engineer

Duration: Until December 2026 with a potential for extension Location: Downtown Toronto Work Model: 3 days a week Pay Rate: $ 80.00 - $ 92.00 / H INC. Role Description The Senior Software Developer is responsible for delivering high-quality, well-designed, and well-architected systems within the Core Trading domain. This role will focus on the successful delivery of a Cloud Data Migration project, ensuring effective use of modern technologies and best practices.

Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, scalable, and well-architected software solutions in a timely manner. Develop and maintain comprehensive unit tests to ensure code reliability and performance. Create and/or validate technical design documentation aligned with project requirements.

Complete assigned work within expected timelines and communicate progress clearly, including risks and dependencies. Design, develop, and test assigned components of projects with accountability and ownership. Collaborate effectively within a team environment while also being able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Perform additional duties as required. Knowledge & Skills Minimum of 5 years of experience in software design and development. Strong understanding of modern software development practices, including: Analysis and design methodologies Development techniques and frameworks Integration patterns Testing strategies Deployment and release processes Hands-on experience building high-performance systems and services using: Prompt Engineering and AI-assisted development (AI coding, debugging tools such as Cursor) Snowflake Oracle and MS SQL databases Cloud platforms and container orchestration (e.g., AKS) Experience with CI/CD and development tools such as GitHub, Jenkins/CloudBees, Nexus, SonarQube, and Jira.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision. Knowledge of financial instruments and experience with data or service migration processes is considered an asset.
