Job Overview The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for working with other divisions to gather and analyze a wide range of data to produce clear, easyâtoâunderstand materials for a broad range of audiences. They will provide recommendations to management to support the companyâs strategic planning, policy management, and stakeholder relations functions by helping the company measure its performance against key targets via multiple applications, such as Excel, PowerBI Dashboards, etc.
The Senior Business Analyst is also responsible for overseeing research requests and other informationârelated activities. This position requires discretion in the handling of confidential and sensitive information. The ideal candidate would have experience in the public sector and a minimum of 7 years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities Collects, develops and prepares reports from various applications such as Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint, to meet the information and data analysis needs of the division, balancing ongoing reporting requirements with special projects; Collaborates with division and other staff to interpret data, identify trends, communicate meaning and develop recommendations based on findings; Coordinates the collection and analysis of business metrics, performance measures and indicators, data collection and sources; Present recommendations to management team; Influences management team on business metrics, performance measures and indicators to ensure the company has the appropriate data and measures to monitor progress and improve business processes and progress towards strategic priorities; Identifies data gaps and emerging information needs to support business performance and progress on strategies; Provides assistance and analytical support to ensure that decisionâmaking processes are aligned with values, policies, and organizationâwide business; Provides support and technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders about data administration, validation and analysis; Research industry standards to ensure the integrity, quality and accuracy of reports produced; Assists in the development and maintenance of common data definitions within TCHC; Assists in the development and management of tracking systems for outcomes identified in business plans for business units, operating units, subsidiaries and selfâgoverning communities within Toronto Community Housing; Provides support for research projects, surveys and evaluation activities internally and externally; Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Completed postâsecondary education related to the job description; University degree preferred, but both University degree and College diploma accepted (e.g., Statistics, Sociology, Business Administration, Financial Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, etc.) or a combination of equivalent education and experience; Minimum of seven years significant jobârelated experience in analysis and reporting; Demonstrated experience utilizing computer applications and software packages such as MS Word, Excel, Teams, PowerBI and other database systems. Excellent knowledge of Excel is a must; Experience in research, analysis and evaluation of information/data from multiple sources; Innovation and creativity to find simple ways to convey complex data from multiple sources; Proven ability to build relationships across various teams and with external partners; Wellâdeveloped analytical and problemâsolving skills and sound judgment; Excellent writing skills to clearly and concisely present ideas to management and internal and external stakeholders to support decisionâmaking; Detailâoriented, with attention to data accuracy and interpretation; Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise correspondence, reports, speaking notes, and presentations; Providing input and support for the development, promotion and implementation of key targets that support Business Operations strategic priorities, objectives, policies and standards; Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously; Experience in mapping complex data between databases and other applications; Excellent communication skills both oral and written; High proficiencies in computer software and/or database systems, data analytics and statistical skills; Knowledge of the housing sector is an asset; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Some project management experience required to meet internal deadlines and provide excellent customer service. #J-18808-Ljbffr
