What Is the Opportunity? Join a highâimpact team leading RBCâs call centre and branch technology transformation. As the Backend (Java & Spring) Lead Developer, you will drive the design, development, and maintenance of GenAIâpowered Advice Centre applications that harness cloud services and generative AI to empower call centre agents and simplify complex workflows.
In this pivotal leadership role, you will guide our transition to inâhouse technology, scale solutions to meet evolving business needs, and champion engineering excellence, innovation, and best practices. What Will You Do?
Design, develop, and maintain scalable frontend and backend components for AC/BT applications. Collaborate with team members and the Development Lead to deliver highâquality, maintainable code. Integrate APIs and cloudâbased services to enhance application functionality.
Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure best practices and code quality. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and adopt new technologies as appropriate.
Work in an agile environment, actively participating in sprint planning, standâups, and retrospectives. What Do You Need to Succeed? Must Have 5â7 years of software development experience, including work with cloud services, microservices, GenAI, and data analysis.
Demonstrated expertise in designing and building complex frontend applications, with strong proficiency in React or other modern frameworks such as Angular. Proven experience in serverâside development using Node.js, Java, or Python. A passion for delivering outstanding user interfaces and digital experiences.
Excellent collaboration skills in fastâpaced, agile environments. Handsâon experience with API integration and cloudâbased services. Strong troubleshooting skills and problemâsolving abilities in complex technical environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work crossâfunctionally and influence stakeholders. Dedication to continuous improvement and innovation. NiceâtoâHave Experience with advanced observability tools.
Deep understanding of software architecture patterns, design principles, and best practices. Familiarity with shiftâleft testing principles, including early integration of automated testing, code quality checks, and continuous feedback throughout the development lifecycle. Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
