Job Description
Position Summary The Assistant General Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong team leadership, and efficient execution of service standards. The AGM serves as a leader on the floor, working closely with all departments to drive sales, maintain profitability, develop staff, and uphold the restaurantโs culture and reputation. Key Responsibilities Operations & Guest Experience Lead daily front-of-house operations to ensure seamless service.
Maintain a visible presence on the floor, engaging with guests and resolving concerns promptly. Ensure all service standards, policies, and procedures are consistently executed. Monitor the flow of service and make operational decisions to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Support private events and special functions as needed. Team Leadership Supervise, coach, and develop front-of-house team members. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training employees.
Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities. Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment. Address employee performance concerns and participate in disciplinary processes when necessary.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities Assist in managing labor costs and scheduling to align with business needs. Monitor daily sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue. Support inventory controls and cost management initiatives.
Ensure accurate completion of opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and reporting requirements. Assist with payroll approvals and administrative tasks as assigned. Compliance & Standards Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and liquor regulations.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the restaurant. Promote adherence to company policies and standards. Respond appropriately to emergencies and operational challenges.
Qualifications Minimum of 3โ5 years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume or upscale dining environment. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to motivate teams and build a culture of accountability.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency with POS systems, reservation platforms, and Microsoft Office. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as business demands require.
Food Safety and BASSET certification preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
