Job Summary Sales Consultant – La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries Location: Farmingdale, NY Compensation: Base + Unlimited Commission What You’ll Be Doing Guiding high-end clients through a premium sales experience.

Sell bold. Earn big. Job Description Key Responsibilities (other duties as assigned): Drive sales by contributing to store sales goals through selling furniture, accessories and services offered by La-Z-Boy.

Promote the Design program and assist the Designer to achieve established Design program sales goals. Consistently execute the La-Z-Boy selling process to provide a favorable customer experience. Develop and utilize sales skills including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, portfolio presentations, handling objections, closing, follow-up, and after-sale service.

Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs. Maintain knowledge of features and benefits of existing and new product lines. Design Program Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs and recommendations, including installation benefits.

Execute and champion the Design process following company guidelines. Support design-related functions in the store. Customer Focus Provide the highest level of customer service to all current and future customers.

Ensure informative and positive customer experiences by following the company selling process. Use tools to ensure customer satisfaction and future follow-up. Make sound business decisions to deliver customer satisfaction and promote a team environment.

Provide responsive support via phone and email. Assist in handling customer issues and/or complaints with appropriate solutions. People Maintain positive working relationships with store employees.

Assist in training, coaching and developing new peers on product knowledge and selling skills. Help promote and champion a culture of sales and service. Operational Excellence Maintain overall visual appearance of the store, including displays and catalogs; support floor moves and store cleanliness.

Accurately complete order information, deposits, and keep customer records. Complete daily system logs and maintain knowledge of company standards and processes. Schedule deliveries and manage opening/closing of the store.

Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Previous selling experience and ability to close a sale strongly preferred Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills Strong interpersonal skills to communicate, build rapport, and influence Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills Ability to manage time and conflicting priorities Ability to work as part of a team Ability to work the schedule dictated by business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays Initiative to meet goals and motivated to achieve more Strong attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field Supervisory Responsibilities None Physical Demands / Work Environment Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds Ability to stand for long periods Repetitive hand motions, hearing and listening Ability to sit, walk, bend and stoop Indoor environmental conditions Ability to pass background and drug screen Other Duties This job description is not designed to cover all duties and responsibilities and may change at any time. Pay and Benefits What You Can Expect Training Pay: $17 per hour for 2-6 weeks (no commission) Average annual earnings after training: $45,000 - $65,000+ (base, bonus, commission) The company will not pay less than state/local minimum wage requirements Post-Training Pay Base Pay: $13 / hour (varies by store location) Commission & Bonus: Uncapped commission on written sales (3% on Design Sales, 2% on other sales) with a quarterly bonus opportunity of $1,500 Note: Individual pay is based on location, performance, qualifications, and skills.
