Python Developer (FastAPI & GenAI) - AI/ML Platform in Sheffield We're partnering with an innovative AI/ML scale-up in Sheffield that is transforming how businesses use AI to automate processes, unlock insights, and drive better decision-making. Following continued growth, they're looking for a Python Developer to join their engineering team and play a key role in building the backend systems and APIs that power their AI-driven products. The engineering team actively embraces AI-assisted development, using tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, and modern LLM platforms to accelerate delivery and improve developer productivity. What you'll be doing: Developing scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI Designing and building REST APIs and microservices Working with cloud infrastructure and modern deployment pipelines Collaborating with AI/ML engineers to integrate LLM and GenAI capabilities into production applications Contributing to architecture, performance, and engineering best practices What we're looking for: Strong commercial Python development experience Experience with FastAPI (or similar modern Python frameworks) Solid understanding of API design and backend architecture Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines Exposure to GenAI, LLMs, RAG, LangChain, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or related technologies would be highly beneficial A genuine interest in how AI can enhance software development and engineering workflows Interested?
