Reliability Engineer West Midlands Monday to Friday | 7:00am โ€“ 3:30pm | Permanent We're recruiting for a Reliability Engineer to join a leading food manufacturing business in a highly autonomous role focused on improving asset reliability, optimising maintenance strategies, and driving engineering performance across a fast-paced production environment. Reporting directly to the Reliability Manager, you'll take ownership of engineering performance within your designated area of the site, working closely with Engineering and Production teams to improve reliability, maximise uptime, reduce costs, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Reliability Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer, or Senior Engineer looking to move into a more strategic engineering role where they can genuinely influence performance and long-term reliability. Key responsibilities include: Developing and improving maintenance strategies to maximise equipment reliability Optimising planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and maintenance effectiveness Supporting engineering and production teams to improve plant performance and uptime Leading and facilitating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations Identifying recurring failures and implementing long-term corrective actions Driving continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, waste reduction, and cost savings Monitoring engineering performance and presenting weekly KPI reports Managing contractors and supporting site shutdowns and overhaul activities Ensuring engineering procedures and documentation remain compliant and audit-ready Supporting a strong Health & Safety culture across the site Working cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, and Site Leadership teams to deliver operational objectives What We're Looking For We're looking for a technically strong engineer with a passion for reliability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. You'll ideally have: A time-served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, food production, process, or automated production environments Strong understanding of maintenance and reliability principles Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis and implementing corrective actions Knowledge of preventative maintenance and asset management strategies Why Join?
