In this senior leadership role, youโ€™ll guide complex mine waste projects, influence sustainable outcomes, and mentor the next generation of engineers, delivering solutions that matter to communities and the environment. Your Impact Design and evaluate tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, and integrated water management systems with safety and sustainability at the forefront Lead geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations to support critical project and business decisions Provide strategic input into permitting, environmental planning, and risk management frameworks Oversee projects from concept through execution, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across Canada and globally Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers, fostering technical excellence and career growth Champion innovative mine waste management strategies and sustainable mining practices Build trusted client relationships and support business development initiatives Represent WSP in client engagements, regulatory discussions, and industry forums The Skills That Set You Apart 10-15 years of progressive experience in mine waste, tailings, or geotechnical engineering Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada Demonstrated expertise in tailings dam design, closure planning, and risk-based decision-making Proven leadership experience managing teams and delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects Strong understanding of permitting, environmental, and regulatory processes in the mining sector A passion for mentorship, innovation, and advancing sustainable engineering solutions Why Choose WSP?

Compensation AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $135,200 - $179,100 MB & ON: $123,300 - $169,800 NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $122,100 - $162,200 Disclosure: The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
