Location: Portland, OR. Reports To VP E-Commerce and Digital Marketing Summary The Human Resource Senior Manager will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, systems, and activities of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. Job Duties Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.

Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs. Administer human resource programs including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development. Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.

Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system. Evaluate HRIS and ATS systems to ensure the organization has the right systems for its needs and that pricing aligns with industry standards. Oversee benefits management and work closely with brokers during benefit renewals.

Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommend best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management. Develop and manage spend to departmental budget.

Support and build programs and events focused on employee morale and retention. Perform other duties as required. Requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate appropriately.

Thorough knowledge of employment‑related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. At least five years of human resources management experience required. SHRM‑CP or SHRM‑SCP highly preferred.

Physical/Functional Requirements Ability to perform consistent work on a PC including use of multiple peripherals. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Ability to interact with others in an effective manner for professional collaboration and communication.

Ability to work in an environment with moderate stress. Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed. Ability to work independently, take initiative with projects, and be self‑motivated.
