Within Pratt & Whitney Canada, the Test Facilities Engineering team is responsible for the design, development, commissioning and continuous improvement of test cells and test systems for all engine families and their components. These facilities play a critical role in engine development, certification and performance validation prior to delivery to customers. Position Overview As part of a multidisciplinary team composed of electrical and mechanical engineers, technicians and technical designers, the successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of advanced electrical and automated systems supporting next‑generation engine programmes and test facilities.

This role combines hands‑on technical expertise with project coordination responsibilities in a dynamic and highly collaborative engineering environment. What will your day‑to‑day look like? Lead the research, development, design, integration, and validation of electrical and automation systems while ensuring alignment with technical requirements, project objectives, and stakeholder expectations.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop innovative solutions for engine test facilities and automated test benches. Analyze technical requirements, operational constraints, costs, schedules, and customer needs to assess project feasibility and define optimal solutions. Design and specify electrical systems, instrumentation, control systems and automation architectures for industrial applications.

Coordinate and oversee the manufacturing, installation, commissioning, maintenance, modification and troubleshooting of electrical and automated systems. Develop project schedules and support budget planning to ensure successful project execution within established timelines and cost targets. Support the integration and implementation of new technologies across test systems and facilities.

Participate in technical reviews, project meetings and interdisciplinary discussions to present recommendations, findings and technical solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, technicians and other team members. Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements and quality expectations throughout all project phases.

What do you need to be successful? Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical systems, automation or industrial engineering environments Preferred Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience with PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley) Experience with HMI programming (Wonderware InTouch) Knowledge of industrial networking and databases Knowledge of instrumentation and measurement systems Familiarity with electrical building codes and standards Hands‑on troubleshooting experience with industrial systems Bilingualism (French and English) Strong project management and coordination skills Knowledge of gas turbine test cells or aerospace testing environments Experience with MS Project Strong collaboration and teamwork skills Ability to work effectively in schedule‑and‑budget‑driven environments What will make you stand out? Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of the employment offer. The salary range for this role is 101,500 CAD - 151,500 CAD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
