Commissioning Manager

Details Location: Manchester Contract: Freelance ⏳ Start: ASAP About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join a high-profile data centre project in the Manchester area. This is a 12-month contract opportunity, ideal for a driven professional with a strong background in mission-critical environments. You will play a key role in overseeing the commissioning process from pre-commissioning through to final handover, ensuring systems are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all aspects of the commissioning process across MEP systems Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders Oversee testing, validation, and performance verification of systems Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements Identify and mitigate risks throughout the commissioning lifecycle Manage commissioning documentation, reporting, and handover packs Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues on-site Drive health & safety standards across all commissioning activities ✅ Requirements Minimum 3 years’ experience in the data centre sector Proven experience working as a Commissioning Manager on large-scale or mission-critical projects Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and BMS systems within data centres Demonstrated experience delivering projects through full commissioning lifecycle Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment If you're interested in this role, please apply below or email your CV to [email protected].
