Position Summary: The Quality Manager establishes, maintains, and enforces the quality assurance and control frameworks for valve manufacturing operations at our Chakan plant. This role holds ultimate accountability for final product release, regulatory compliance, and total quality adherence to customer specifications. The successful candidate will lead the quality engineering team, oversee multi-stage inspections, validate specialized testing, and manage relationships with Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies and suppliers.

Principal Activities & Key Responsibilities: Final Release & Product Compliance Authorize the final release of all manufactured valves, verifying absolute compliance with Quality Plans, General Arrangement Drawings (GAD), and client purchase orders. Govern the application of the API Monogram, ensuring strictly compliant implementation on certified product lines. Direct and optimize comprehensive inspection workflows across incoming material, in-process production, pattern evaluation, and final assembly.

Review and approve technical Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) customized to specific customer requirements and contract specifications. Testing, NDT & Vendor Quality Supervise specialized valve testing , including hydrostatic pressure testing, Type Testing, and client-specific performance protocols. Validate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures, process validations, and technician qualifications against international standards.

Verify supplier technical records , including Material Test Certificates (MTC), vendor inspection reports, and NDT documentation. Plan, conduct, and monitor supplier quality audits to qualify vendors and manage supply chain performance. Auditing, Systems & QHSE Coordinate directly with TPI agencies , executing timely inspection notifications and managing witness testing timelines.

Lead the organization through internal, external, and customer audits, serving as the primary quality interface. Formulate and verify CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to resolve non-conformances (NC) identified during customer audits. Collaborate with the Management Representative to rapidly implement, upgrade, and maintain QMS and QHSE systems.

Leadership & Departmental Governance Manage and deploy Quality Engineering resources, defining clear daily workflows and monitoring task execution. Own and optimize department-level QMS Procedures, Work Instructions (WI), reference documents, and reporting formats. Track and declare departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to executive leadership.

Identify employee training gaps and deliver technical mentorship to foster a highly motivated engineering team. Candidate Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical Technical Skills: Deep working knowledge of API standards (e.g., API 6D, API 6A, API 600) and ASME codes. Strong understanding of valve pressure testing standards (e.g., API 598, EN 12266-1).

Familiarity with NDT methods (PT, MT, UT, RT) and welding procedures (WPS/PQR). Experience managing global TPI bodies (e.g., TUV, BV, DNV, Lloyd's Register) commonly active in the Pune industrial belt. Exp.
