Position AI Engineer, Operations Excellence Reporting to: Vice President, Operations Excellence Location: Edmonton, Alberta (hybrid option) The Opportunity KV Capital is seeking an AI Engineer to help build the next generation of KV’s lending platform — AI-powered tools that automate property valuation, deal analysis, document review, and market intelligence, embedded directly into the workflows of our origination teams. This is a hands-on, full-stack engineering role with significant autonomy. You’ll work closely with the VP of Operations Excellence, domain experts, and other peer engineers.

Your Key Responsibilities AI agents for property valuation, comparables analysis, and deal screening Document extraction pipelines (PDFs → structured data) for appraisals, title documents, and financials Internal tools that put AI in the hands of analysts and originators Borrower-facing experiences for application tracking and transparency Production deployment, monitoring, and iteration with real users Your Capabilities and Credentials Strong fundamentals in Python and one modern web stack (TypeScript / React / Node, or equivalent) Hands-on experience building with LLMs — you know when to trust and when to challenge AI Ability to ship full-stack features end-to-end: backend services, APIs, database, and a robust, secure frontend Comfort with SQL and relational databases (Postgres preferred) Working familiarity with cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD Solid engineering hygiene: version control, code review, testing, clear documentation Deep understanding of ALM best practices Curiosity about real estate, finance, or lending — domain training is provided Strong written and verbal communication; able to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders Self-direction — you can take a fuzzy problem, scope it, and ship a working solution A portfolio of working projects (GitHub, deployed apps, hackathon submissions) Nice to Have: Experience with agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom orchestration) Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, or RAG systems Background or interest in real estate, mortgage, fintech, or property tech Public AI projects, open source contributions, or hackathon wins Proficiency in C# and .NET Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Dataverse, and model-driven apps Familiarity with design systems like FluentUI and TailwindCSS What KV Capital Offers Competitive total compensation package, including performance-based and long-term incentives Competitive vacation and flexible time off, including birthdays off and holiday office closure 100% employer-paid benefits Tuition and professional development support On-site gym Hybrid work model: 4 days in office, 1 day remote per week Pay Pay: $61,213.60–$208,737.76 per year Benefits Casual dress Company events Dental care Disability insurance Extended health care Life insurance On-site gym On-site parking Vision care Work Location Hybrid remote in Edmonton, AB How to Apply To apply, please forward your resume and cover letter in confidence to [email protected] with the subject line: “AI Engineer”. #J-18808-Ljbffr
