Opportunity Join WSP’s Building & Transportation Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Team as a Site Electrical Engineer, supporting major transportation buildings projects in downtown Toronto. This role blends hands‑on site execution with technical leadership, offering the autonomy to shape complex, future‑forward projects while mentoring the next generation of engineers. Your Impact Deliver electrical design and site engineering services for complex transportation buildings projects.
Act as WSP’s electrical representative during construction, supporting contractors, owners, and internal teams through all phases of site execution. Lead electrical design packages including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, grounding, and life safety systems. Conduct regular site visits and field reviews to verify conformance with contract documents, codes, and standards.
Review shop drawings, RFIs, change requests, and design deviations with a strong focus on constructability and coordination. Mentor junior engineers and EITs, guiding technical quality and professional development. Support testing, commissioning, ISV, and project close‑out activities to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant systems.
Contribute to small project delivery as both design engineer and project manager when required. Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and P.Eng. registration with PEO . 5–7 years of experience designing electrical systems for transportation, institutional, healthcare, commercial, or industrial projects. Strong knowledge of Ontario and Canadian codes and standards (OBC, OESC, CEC, CSA, NFPA, IEEE, IES).
Proven experience providing construction administration and site engineering services on complex projects. A solid understanding of electrical construction practices, sequencing, and safety requirements. Experience coordinating with contractors, commissioning agents, inspectors, and AHJs.
Familiarity with GO Metrolinx, TTC, and other transportation authority standards (asset). Proficiency with engineering software for power system studies, lighting, grounding, and arc flash analysis (asset). Compensation AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $98,800 – $130,800 MB & ON: $90,100 – $124,100 NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $89,200 – $118,500 The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
